Weekend in London

Phew, i just survived a 12 hr flight. Freaking tired now. The way up to london was a nightmare. I would say its a great workout. Coming back to sing is not as bad. Though working in business class can be a bit stressful for a start but it's not as physically demanding as economy class. But whatever the case, it all boils down to WHO u are working with. That's what the airline is about.

Anyhow... A short one on my london stay.

touched down on sat evening. my 1st time to coptherone hotel @ high st. Gd location but not so nice room & disgusting service. Pui, make me pay for e internet @ 24 hr rate when their network is down for at least 5 hrs. damn it

Marks n Spencer is a must visit there. Esp for food.

Knocked out after my eye mask. I swear i had it on for at least 2hrs b4 i woke up to throw it away. Then i slept all e way till morning. I realised i always sleep very well in london. I think i suit the GMT+1 there.

Super happy my buddy Stephy was there for holiday. We met up for Camden Market since both of us haven been there. I miss those flights with her around.

Camden market is just a tiny market with goods u see in bangkok , hongkong etc selling in POUNDS. Disappointing goods with killer prices.

Camden town is a nice area though.

Errrr.. the river is actually quite dirty.

Beautiful sunday, beautiful mood.

Camden lock market has better stuff. Quite a handful of talented works. if only i have my own house/ room to decorate. BOO!

We were conned to buying this drink for 2 pounds cos of its nice colour gradient. A too- sour grapefruit juice.

Then it was dinner @ windsor castle. English looking bar/restaurant that sells Thai food.

After a nice & long dinner i headed back to my hotel. On my way back, a real huge crowd got on @ notting hill, i knew there must b some event going on. True enough , i realised there's a big scale carnival along notting hill when i saw e broadcast on TV. So sad that i missed it. No wonder primark has half the crowd that day. A good thing too.

So glad that Anwei n I still managed to kp in contact. MSN is such a powerful innovation. Feels so good to meet up with an old friend ,talk about the past and see how we have evolved over the years. Anwei is still as cute & funny as ever and like before, we never failed to amused each other. Haha...


Ichiban Boshi! I had my 1st trial @ the acuvue define, i really liked the effect. Please tell me my eyes look slightly bigger for that day.whahaa. But according to anwei , fresh kon alluring eyes has a more dramatic effect.


We managed to grab a make up base each for $12( usual $58) at the shiseido sales. It called the matifying veil. Been using for a few flights, good cos it's light ,matifying and moisturing enough for aircraft use. I can say bye bye to my liquid foundation. YEsh!




Till we meet again babe...

Later in the evening, i met up with my ex colleagues from AI. 1 yr since we last met. A great deal of catching up done. Can still remember how we slogged those late nights together. Glad it's all over and so happy for elin that she's happily married and setttled with a great job. Peggy is still as jovial n spontaneous as ever.

-20th Aug-

We only got to know that we were both going shanghai the night before on MSN. Suddenly a typical short flight becomes a flight i look forward to. Actually i always dont mind going china.

In fact i like it, the cheap massages , DVDs, bags etc etc...

Lil Steph took a cab from her hotel in pudong to my hotel in hong qiao. that's like 20 mins drive away without jam and we later made a trip to Nanking road.

Love is in the air. The street is crowded with couples cos it's 七夕情人节!

Anyway we met a boy who's so hilarous, steph was busy taking pictures of me and he insisted on passing her a calendar card (those advertising gimmicks ). As long as u walked past em, u r not spared , they push the cards right into your faces.. i find that funny yet irritating.

What can i say...it's China...

Coca cola is everywhere!

Steph says this is a subsitute for Rome.. oh wells...she's really optimistic.

After some minor shopping at 人民广场,we headed back to Pudong area for steamboat @ the Dollar Shop. A nice and cosy restaurant.

As usual, both of us ordered more than what we can eat. I love my fungus soup. slurp.

Pity we ordered 2 huge plate of beef slices and still did not get the beef type we wanted. blame it on our poor mandarin.

I spent the night @ steph's hotel and took a cab back the next morning.

Krisworld in a cab? looks like shanghai is moving ahead of us. We better start having robot drivers soon....
