Unfortunately, life's unpredictable as much as we do not want to admit. Just came back from guohui's dad's wake. It saddens me to see how life can be so vulnerable.

It's a cruel fact that we all need to face as we grow older- one day, some day, our loved ones will leave us. It's inevitable that we tend to take our family members for granted , myself included. So, i shall constantly remind myself to spend more time with them, just that little bit more.

Anyway, I am glad that their family is strong. Still, i know it hurts and it takes time.

I send my deepest condolences. Stay strong, my dear.

Taipei Sep 11-12

Hoh's family happened to be holidaying in taipei so met them for steamboat there.

We sang till 6 am ! was already daybreak and i took the 1st train back to my hotel. Scary!

Treasure Life

Was sick when i got back from JNB on sat morning, no choice our dating plan has to be postponed. Hoh had to accompany me to the clinic instead. Boo.

Spent a quiet n simple time @ hoh's house eating grapes and watching DvDs.

Steamboat plan with the gals was not carried out as well. Not an appropriate time and some of us were sick. Better dont spread the germs around.

One of my bestest friend's dad got sick. Was a sudden news. Life's unpredictable. He has been a father figure whom i looked up to, managed a family really well. All 4 kids turned out to be remarkable adults.Especially in contrast with my family.

I admired her dad for giving up smoking for his family and wished my parents are as loving as hers. My dad till now has all sorts of excuses for not giving up smoking, even my brother is smoking now. How to give the best education when he himself is not setting the best example. Why can't they see the point that smoking is taking their life away slowly? Especially when my brother has only 1 lung ? Don't they treasure their health? Is it worth the risk for that insignificant moments of pleasure? Sorry smokers , but i just don't understand.

That aside, I really hope that her daddy will tide over this 2 wks. He has been amazing for these 5 days, i am sure another miracle will happen.

my friend, I will pray for ur daddy and family. Meanwhile, take good care of yourself.

South Africa- Johannesburg (JNB)

hey peeps. In africa now, net's too slow for uploading of pics. will complete the blog when i go back to Sin. Having a burning throat. I Don't want to be sick for my wkends in Singapore. BOOOO.

Anyway, went Lesidi Cultural village yesterday. Cost us 700 rand for an evening tour with dinner. That's like 175 Sing can, Who says Africa is cheap?

Once in a lifetime, so have to spend la. Quite an exotic tour, had a good time despite my bloody throat. weather was good but as usual a bit dry. I finised 6.5 litres of water in 2 days. 1st time in my life.

the rings on the legs are suppose to prevent the brides from escaping while the neck rings stops them from moving their heads left and right to look for escape routes.. haha. the neck rings don't sound convincing

they have clean ,colourful guest rooms if you'ld like to stay in the village for a night. I like their wall art!

The chief of a certain african tribe. There were about 4 to 5 tribes/villages that we visited that day. Names are too difficult for me to remember. We looked so plain beside his extravagant costume.

It's customary to greet the chief of the village before you can enter.

For this village, it has the highest price for marrying a bride, the market rate is usually 11 cattles. for this if i din remember wrongly its 13-14 cattles, cos the wives here are especially hardworking. This lady here is polishing the floor with MUD & COW DUNG!!! I tell u they smell really BAD, i almost want to vomit. N they call that POLISHING the floor lo! Furthermore, they have to do it 3 times daily. Indeed hardworking , def worth the 13 cattles.

He speaks excellent English.Next up is the traditional dances. Whee.

2nd day @ Butcher with Audrey. Had some good steak. Audrey looked so tired cos she just touched down that day. Poor gal. So lucky to have my batch mates on both days, eileen and stanley on my touch down day and Audrey on my 2nd day.
